My Expertise

Compliance / Standards Consultant

I have brought dozens of products from idea to market as well as produced significant protected IP. I have dealt with all kinds of regulations, regulatory and advisory bodies in my work and am able to help my clients with issues including, but not limited to:

  • CE Certification and Declaration

  • Finnish and European patents

  • Product compliance to Finnish regulation

  • AQAP and the GQA process in Nordic countries

My professional network includes several specialists in each of these areas and I am able to liaison with or recommend colleagues where my knowledge might not suffice.

Electronics Expert

I have designed, built and tested everything from PCBs to modern cloud applications. My hands-on experience as an engineer gives me the ability to understand the technical complexities behind human problems and provide informed solutions. Some of my strong areas are:

  • Software QA, including a hands-on understanding of modern Agile/Scrum and a wide grasp of the modern toolset from backend to frontend.

  • PCBA Manufacturing and compliance of electronic assemblies, in particular IPC A-610 and related standards.

  • Management of special processes as required by domain-specific quality standards (e.g. IRIS).

  • Technical documentation, such as technical drawings (ISO 128).

  • Product and service design, including design-for-market, costing and RAMS aspects.

  • Project management of the embedded product lifecycle, with a track record of several successful products from idea to market.

QA / Supplier Expert

I have extensive experience working across the full stack of physical and digital products as a quality manager, auditor and supplier expert across complicated delivery chains.

  • ISO 9001 and its derivative standards, particularly:

    • ISO/TS 22163 (IRIS - Rail)

    • ISO 13485 (Medical devices)

    • AS 9100 (Aerospace)

  • EN Standards, particularly railway standards and especially EN 50155.

  • EU Directives and Standards typically required for CE certification of embedded products, such as REACH, RoHS, the EMC Directive, Machinery Directive etc.

  • I also have experience and familiarity with US and NATO military standards and directives and their compatibility to civilian directives.

    I have an extensive network of design, manufacturing and quality control partners in Europe.

To me, every business problem is a human problem and requires a good dose of empathy, excellent communication skills and the capability to build a well-functioning team and commit them to a common cause. My biggest skill is putting people first.
